Kristen Everett

Principal

Kristen, the principal and lead management consultant, has over 20 years of strategic planning and management experience. She has designed and led successful teams and programs for some of Canada’s largest major projects and leading pipeline, mining, and oil and gas companies. Kristen has built a reputation for building lasting partnerships, developing innovative programs and improving social, economic and environmental performance.

Kristen is Ojibway and a proud band member of Berens River First Nation in Manitoba.

 

Experience:

Kristen was the Vice President of Programs and Student Success at Indspire where she was accountable for designing and implementing innovative new programs, improving program performance, and increasing opportunities for student and donor engagement.

Prior to Indspire, Kristen was the Director of Administration at Southeast Resource Development Council Corp. (SERDC) accountable for managing the tribal council’s governance, facilitating its strategic planning and improving on its operating outcomes.

For most of Kristen’s career she held senior management positions in the mining, pipeline, and oil and gas sectors. She developed and led effective Public Consultation, Stakeholder Engagement and Communications, Indigenous Reconciliation and Local Inclusion, Research and Evaluation, and Community Development and Investment teams and programs.

Kristen has extensive experience working with Indigenous communities and organizations on industry engagement, asset management, housing and infrastructure, health services, climate change and environmental monitoring, economic development, and education and training initiatives.

Vanessa Everett, MBA

Vanessa is Ojibway, a band member of the Berens River First Nation in Manitoba and an Internationally Certified Program Planner. Vanessa’s education includes; a Business Administration Diploma, with a major in Marketing Management; a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and; a Master’s of Business Administration.  

Vanessa has over 25 years of management consulting experience. She has consulted and advised on various projects including training to employment, developing health services, governance and strategic planning, business and fund development, government relations, and human resource development.  

Most recently, Vanessa specialized in Organizational/Governance Reviews, Feasibility Assessments, Annual and Strategic Planning, as well as Policy, Bylaws, and Organizational Development. Vanessa has strong relationships with national and provincial key stakeholders, she’s built effective and successful partnerships and her programs and partnerships have won an international award and national and regional recognition. She co-chaired the national “Program Development Improvement Working Group” for the new Indigenous Skills to Employment Training Strategy (ISETS) federal program and agreement.  

Earlier in Vanessa’s career, she held the role of Executive Director of a provincial trades and skills training centre (Regina Trades and Skills Centre), where she led the start-up organization, developed its 5-year strategic business plan, established the board governance and managing the organization’s $13 million provincial capital fund. Prior to this role, Vanessa raised more than $2.5 million annually in the education and training programs for Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.
